So you never have to wait a longtime for the tram. And you can explore Prague, in different directions.

Sightseeing and hiking in the neighborhood

The real life Prague takes place just a few tram stops from Wenceslas Square in the districts Vinohrady and Zizkov , on the east side of the center of Prague . The lack of large crowds of tourists here is truly a breath of fresh air . In addition, this is a the place to behold. The districts are enclosed between Hlavní nádraží railway station on the west side, Vítkov park on the north side and the street Vršovická on the south side .

Vinohrady literally means " vineyard " and that has everything to do with the history of this district .
Already in the 14th century there were a lot of vineyards located in this area, planted by King Charles the Fourth .
Four hundred years later, the vineyards were replaced by rose gardens, orchards and more residential buildings .
The first houses glowed all prestige and elegance, which is not subsequently changed.
The well-groomed buildings in this neighborhood were built in neo -Renaissance , Art Nouveau , Baroque, and Neo- Gothic style and are often built in the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century.
The main street of the neighborhood is undoubtedly Vinoradská and is a well known and famous part of Prague with restaurants , pubs , music clubs and nightclubs .
You can quickly reach it by tram 11 ( stop Horky or Námestí Bratri Synku )
However, the street that runs parallel to Vinoradská is much more attractive.  Mánesova give you more fun, to explore the beautiful architecture and nice restaurants.
The central square of this district is Namesti Miru . Take place on a terrace, and watch the everyday life of Prague

Zizkov is located on the east side of Vinohrady . Before World War II , Zizkov had a reputation as a rough area . That changed quickly after the war, and the neighborhood became a residential area with dynamic allure.
The Žižkovtower (TV Tower ) stands out for its unusual appearance . The tower restaurant is at a height of 63 meters , a different view point at 95 meters height. Since the year 2000, the three pillars of the tower are adorned with images of crawling babies , designed by Czech sculptor David Černý .

Havlickovy Sady the second largest park in Prague (at walking distance from the apartment).
The most notable monument in the park is the beautiful Villa Grobe (Grebovka). This is a magnificent example of neo-Renaissance villa built as a luxury summerhouse for industrial Moritz Grobe in 1871-1888.
The house stands majestically in a tastefully landscaped, terraced garden on top of a hill covered with vineyards. The villa is not open to the public, but you can visit the site and enjoy a beautiful view over Prague from the hill.
The park is very nicely designed, it is a pleasure to walk along the many paths. You can also relax on the terrace of Vinicni Altan, with a nice glass of wine.
You can visit the newly restored Villa Grebovka "Grotta”.

The isolated district Vyšehrad is located on the right bank of the Vltava river.

You will find beautiful parks and building complexes. Vyšehrad literally means' hilltop castle, "and it is said that it is the oldest Castle of Prague.

The fortress is seen as the mythical birthplace of the city of Prague.

The urbanization is not only popular because of the sights and the beautiful views you have from the river side of the city. It is especially an area where the locals on the weekends with the family go to relax in one of the secluded parks.
